To conduct high frequency hardening only on a working surface to manufacture a steel part kept to a high hardness by using specified steel which has corrosion resistance, is excellent in cutting machinability and cold operability, and can be kept to a specified value or more of hardness in high-frequency hardening, and be hardened to a required depth.
A hollow part or an shaft-like part of martensite base stainless steel is formed out of stainless steel which contains 0.3-0.6% C, 1.0 or less Si, 1.0% or less Mn, 0.04% or less P, 0.03% or less S, and 4.0-11.0% Cr, further contains one or two kinds selected from 1.0% or less Mo and 0.02-0.2% N at need, and the residue having alloy composition substantially formed of Fe, and the use surface of which is subjected to high frequency hardening. One or two kinds of surface finishings selected from fine particle high speed shot injection treatment and nitriding treatment are conducted on the surface of the martensite base stainless steel part subjected to high frequency hardening.
