Title:
MASKING METHOD FOR VACUUM ARC DESCALING METHOD
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3482298
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To execute partial descaling without the occurrence of defects in masking boundary parts by arranging a masking member which is electrically insulated from a part to be treated and is slightly parted therefrom and executing vacuum arc descaling.
SOLUTION: The member 2 to be treated which is subjected to descaling as cathode and an anode electrode 3 are arranged in a vacuum chamber 1. Further, the masking member 5 is arranged in the part of the member 2 to be treated where the execution of the descaling treatment is not desired. At this time, the masking member 5 is arranged by electrically insulating the masking member from the member 2 to be treated by an insulating material 7 and parting the ends of the masking member apart 0.3 to 2mm from the surface of the member to be treated. A vacuum arc is generated in this sate between both electrodes by a DC arc power source 4, by which the member 2 to be treated is subjected to partial descaling treatment.
