The base portion 18 is repeatedly deflected by the reciprocating drive means 7 in a direction perpendicular to the surface. Accordingly, the scalp S may be washed and massaged by the respective projections 19-22. Furthermore, a phantom surface connecting distal ends of a plurality of the projections 19-22 under an unloaded condition is always concave regardless of any position of the reciprocating drive means 7, when the treating section 3 is attached to the main body 2. Thus, a plurality of the distal ends of the projections 19-22 can be pressed smoothly over a convex curvature such as the scalp S.
