Abstract:

PURPOSE: To make it possible to pull a mast up easily by use of a traction rope by moving one end of the rope of which the other end is fixed at the lower end of mast to the upper side to the lower side of the mast in standing the mast up from the falling-down state.

CONSTITUTION: An ultra-small ship, e.g. wind surfing is provided with a mast 1 capable of standing up on a board 2 and a sail 4 set at the mast 1 and a boom arranged laterally at the lower part. In this case, a plurality of static pulleys 7, 8 are mounted at the upper and lower ends of mast 1 through a plurality of support fittings 11, 12, while one dynamic pulley 9 is disposed between them. A resilient main rope 14 is layed between the pulleys 7-9, while between the pulley 9 and the lower end of mast 1, a traction rope 15 is layed. It is possible for a crew to stand the mast 1 up via the main rope 14 by stretching the rope 15 while he stands on the board 2.
