Abstract:
To provide a master cylinder which can inhibit a filter from being inadvertently removed while enabling easy removal of the filter from a reservoir.SOLUTION: A master cylinder has: a reservoir 13 which stores a working fluid injected from an opening 26; a filter 51 provided at the opening 26; and a master cylinder body which receives supply of the working fluid from the reservoir 13. The filter 51 has: a filter large diameter part 52 having a larger diameter than an inner diameter of the opening 26; a filter small diameter part 54 having a smaller diameter than the inner diameter of the opening 26; and an engagement part 55 which is formed having a diameter that is smaller than the filter large diameter part 52 and larger than the filter small diameter part 54 and restricts movement from the opening 26.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
