Title:
MAT-LIKE STRUCTURE MADE OF FIBER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS6461553
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a mat-like structure made of fibers, having bumps in the edge parts of its outskirts and excellent in form retention and durability by the compression molding of a mat-like product, where entangling points of a sheet-like entangled product made of a synthetic fiber monofilament crimped yarn are joined with a binding layer, at an elevated compression ratio in the edge parts of its outskirts.

CONSTITUTION: This mat-like structure 1 having bumps 3 in the edge parts of its outskirts is produced by the following steps: (1) making a bundle of synthetic fiber monofilaments in a doubly twisted kink pass through a hot-air oven at 220°C to heat-treat it and then cooling it, followed by untwisting and cutting it to form a three-dimensional massive crimped product; (2) subjecting the product to opening to form sheet, applying rubber latex to the sheet and subjecting the sheet to hot press to form a mat-like product, where entangling points of a sheet-like entangled product made of the three-dimensional massive crimped product are joined with a binding layer; and (3) subjecting the mat-like product 2 to compression molding at an elevated compression ratio in the edge parts of its outskirts by means of a mold form having bumps in its outskirts.
