To provide a method for collecting aluminum, which can safely utilize a spent dry battery, does not need a complicated apparatus, has a simple process, can finish the operation in a short period of time, and can recycle aluminum and the spent dry battery.

The method for collecting aluminum with high purity comprises the steps of: melting a scrap of aluminum or aluminum alloy; preparing a powdery material for collecting aluminum beforehand by burning and crushing the spent dry battery; adding the powdery material into the molten metal; making alloying elements or impurities react with or be adsorbed to the material for collecting aluminum; and separating the resultant material to remove the alloying elements or the impurities contained in aluminum and enhance the purity of aluminum.
