PURPOSE: To prevent materials from bending by rotating and supporting the material in the direction opposing to the feed direction by means of a conveyer for support and rotation in the cross direction by the intermittent motion of a push-motion conveyer, and raising a pressure roller interlockingly to the motion so as to press the material from an above position in the material cooling and conveying device.
CONSTITUTION: The material M fed in a conveying means 6 by a charging side material placing device 8 is placed on a conveyer 11 for support and rotation rolls caused by the inclination of the conveyer 11 to the side of a discharge table 7 and is rotatably supported by the receiving rollers 30 of a stand-by table 29 to be arranged at a stand-by position A. It is also moved on the conveyer 11 for support and rotation at the positions B through F, pressed by pressure rollers 19 of the pressure nails of an intermittently driven push-motion conveyer 12. Whenever it is placed on the converter 11, a pressure roller 25 is lowered to press the material M, and the conveyer 11 for support and rotation is made to run in the direction opposing to a conveying direction to rotate the material M. The material M can, thus, be prevented from bending by being pressed from an above position while being rotated.
