Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a material feeder to a rotary kiln and a control method for it having a simple and compact structure without the fear of immersion.
SOLUTION: A material is charged to an outer tube 24 through a material charging port 26 and a shaft part 22 is rotated with a screw 23 by a rotary drive part 30. Thus, the material is gradually moved forward in the outer tube 24 and supplied to a rotary kiln 1 from an end part 25. Cooling air is supplied to the hollow part of a shaft part 22 through a rotary joint 28 from a cooling air supply part 29 and jetted to the outer tube 24 from a plurality of blow out holes 27 opened on a side wall in the vicinity of the end of the shaft part 22. Thus, the outer tube 24, the screw 23 and the shaft part 22 are directly cooled.
