PURPOSE: To provide a material feeder, for which there is no need to provide any distance between each of a plurality of materials, and in which space efficiency for putting materials is good, and by which the materials are always carried out accurately even when they are not put perpendicular to the feeding direction.

CONSTITUTION: A plurality of running trucks 2, which are let run and driven along a plurality of frames 1, and each of which is provided with an elevator table 21 for lifting a material W and a sensor 21 for detecting the material, a running amount measurement means 3 fitted in at least one of the trucks, and a controller 4 are provided. Each running truck 2 is started to run for the material, and after it is individually stopped at a point where the side end part of the material is detected by each sensor 22 for detecting the material, all of the trucks 2 are let run the distance set in advance in the same direction before they are stopped, based on the output of the running amount measurement means 3, and after the elevator table 21 is lifted and the material W is thereby lifted, all of the trucks 2 are let run in reverse, and are stopped at a fixed point, and the material W is thus carried up to the fixed point.
