To provide a material feeding device for a sawing machine, which feeds a plate to be cut to a saw blade, without bringing the hand or the fingers of the operator close to the saw blade.

The material feeding device is formed of: a slider 1 which is longitudinally slidably mounted on a ruler S set on a cutting plate Z of the sawing machine; a plate spring 6 which is vertically movably set on a rear side of a side surface of the slider 1, closer to the saw blade; a block 12 and a metal plate 18 which are vertically movably set on a front side of a side surface of the slider 1, closer to the saw blade; an operating lug 22 longitudinally slidably supported on an upper surface of the slider 1; and wires 11, 17 which transfer motion generated when the operating lug 22 is drawn frontward to the plate spring 6 and the block 12, to thereby lower the plate spring 6 and the block 12. Thus the plate P to be cut is pressed and held by the plate spring 6 and the metal plate 18, and then fed to the saw blade X.
