PURPOSE: To decrease the curvature of a fishing rod toward the rear end caused by applied force and to prevent the phenomenon of local abrupt bending of the rod by forming the tip end part of the rod exclusively with a 1st resin layer and forming the rear end part with a 2nd resin layer containing high- strength fiber increasing the strength toward the rear end.
CONSTITUTION: A 1st resin layer 1 containing a high-strength fiber S1 is formed over the whole length of the raw material R in the direction of the axis. A 2nd resin layer 2 containing a high-strength fiber S2 having an elastic modulus higher than that of the high-strength fiber S1 of the 1st resin layer 1 is formed at the rear end side of the raw material in the region shorter than the whole length of the raw material R. The content of the high-strength fiber S2 in the 2nd resin layer 2 is increased toward the rear end of the raw material R. Since the raw material R has only the 1st resin layer 1 at the tip end part and the rear end of the material has the 2nd resin layer 2 containing the high-strength fiber S2 in an amount increasing toward the rear end, the curvature of the rod under a definite force decreases toward the rear end and the local bending phenomenon does not take place under the application of a bending force to the material R.
