To provide a material for a golf ball which shows favorable flowability and moldability and by which a golf ball excellent in resilience can be obtained while maintaining durability when molded by injection molding and using as constituting element of the golf ball and a method for manufacturing the same.
The material for the golf ball contains a resin component comprising (a-I) an olefin-acrylic acid copolymer having weight-average molecular weight (Mw) from 150,000 to 200,000 and the ratio of the weight-average molecular weight (Mw) and number-average molecular weight (Mn) from 3.0 to 7.0 or metal neutralized matter of the same, (a-II) an olefin-methacrylic acid-unsaturated carboxylic acid ester copolymer having weight-average molecular weight (Mw) from 120,000 to 200,000 and the ratio of the weight-average molecular weight (Mw) and number-average molecular weight (Mn) from 3.0 to 7.0 or metal neutralized matter, (b) an organic acid or a metal salt thereof, (c) a basic inorganic metal compound capable of neutralizing acid groups in the component.
