Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a hard contact lens having excellent impact resistance, UV absorptivity, and enough hardness for machining while maintaining high oxygen permeability by specifying the lens material.
CONSTITUTION: This contact lens is obtd. by working a material obtd. by polymn. of the mixture described below. This mixture contains as the essential components, tris(trimethylsiloxy)silyl propylmethacrylate, perfluoro octylethyloxypropylene methacrylate, alkylmethacrylate, hydrophilic monomer, crosslinking agent, silicone oligomer, at least one kind of benzotriazole UV absorbent expressed by formula I, at least one kind of benzophenone UV absorbent expressed by formula II or III, and anthraquinone coloring agent. In formula I, R1 and R2 are independently hydrogen or 1-4C alkyl groups. In formulae II and III, R1 and R2 are 6-12C alkyl groups.
