Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a material for medical equipment, in which a polymer obtained from β phellandrene as monomer, which is a material that can also be obtained from microorganisms or plants, etc. as a carbon neutral material, is used.SOLUTION: Provided are: (1) a material for medical equipment in which β phellandrene polymer whose density is 0.85 or more and less than 1.0 and glass transition temperature is 105°C or higher, is contained by 50 to 100 mass% per total mass of the material for medical equipment; (2) the material for medical equipment in which the number average molecular weight Mn of the β phellandrene polymer is 40,000 or more; (3) the material for medical equipment in which at least a portion of olefinic carbon-carbon double bond which the β phellandrene polymer possesses is hydrogenated; (4) the material for medical equipment formed into a container shape and the container has a total light transmittance of 85% or more; and (5) the material for medical equipment formed into a pipe shape and the pipe has a total light transmittance of 85% or more.
