PURPOSE: To provide a material for parts for use in crushing which has a remarkably excellent characteristics in strength and abrasion resistance effective for lining material and medium for use in a crushing device of the dry or wet type for pulverizing particles of ceramics, metal, organic polymer, etc., and which further has proper bulk density.
CONSTITUTION: A sintered body is composed of ZrO2, as principal component wherein 2-6mole%, in total, of at least one of Yb2O3, Er2O3 and Ho2O3 is contained as stabilizing agents and crystal grains of the body mainly comprises a tetragonal phase or a mixed phase of tetragonal and cubic system and average crystal grain size is 3μm or less and bulk density is 6.0g/cm3 or more. Thus material for parts for use in crushing is comprised of a sintered body of ZrO2 wherein Yb2O3, Er2O3 and Ho2O3 are used as stabilizing agents.
