Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a material for soft inside eye lens which is excellent in softness and transparency and has high refractive index, and moreover does not cause glistenings by using a polymer composed through the polymerization of polymerizing component containing a hydrophilic monomer and regulating its absorption coefficient so as to be within a specified range.
SOLUTION: A polymer for a soft inside eye lens used for the operation of cataract can be obtained by polymerizing a polymerizing component containing a hydrophilic monomer. The hydrophilic monomer is the indispensable composition unit of the soft inside eye lens material and used as a component to promote the lowering of glistenings of the soft inside eye lens material. As the hydrophilic monomer, hydroxide group containing alkyl(meta)acrylate having 1-20 of alkyl group carbons, (meta)acrylic amide monomer, N-vinyl lactam and the like are listed.
