Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid hydrocarbon solidifying material which can adsorb and solidify a liquid hydrocarbon as it is, can be recycled, is stable chemically and is safe and to provide a method for solidifying the liquid hydrocarbon efficiently by physicochemical adsorption.
SOLUTION: This liquid hydrocarbon solidifying material consists of an assembled crystallization of metallic salt of an aliphatic carboxylic acid obtained by dispersing it fibrously in purified water, a sodium chloride aqueous solution, the aqueous solution of any of various metallic salts, seawater or man-made seawater.
