PURPOSE: To prevent the deviation of a lap transferring position and to perform an excellent image transfer by providing a platen and first, second pinch rollers.

CONSTITUTION: When a sheet 7 is conveyed in a normal direction, a pinch roller 2 is rotated counterclockwise. The sheet 7 interposed between the roller 2 having a large frictional coefficient and a platen 1 to be held is accurately conveyed in the normal direction without slip. In this case, a pinch roller 3 is driven by the platen 1 to be rotated. One color such as yellow is transferred in this state. Then, after an arrow of yellow color is printed for one page of the sheet 7, the sheet 7 is then conveyed reversely so as to print next magenta color that is, the roller 2 is rotated clockwise. In this case, the sheet 7 interposed between the roller 2 and the platen 1 to be held is accurately conveyed reversely without slip similarly to the case of conveying it in the normal direction.
