To provide a matting agent coating liquid by which the adhesion of sheetlike materials due to superposition in a humid atmosphere is not caused and the falling of the matting agent is suppressed, to provide a sheetlike material obtained by coating the top of a support with the coating liquid and to provide a silver halide photographic sensitive material free of the occurrence of matte and pinholes and excellent in transparency.
The matting agent coating liquid is obtained by dispersing a matting agent comprising particles of a copolymer containing an ethylenically unsaturated monomer unit having a nonionic hydrophilic group and a hydrophobic ethylenically unsaturated monomer unit in an aqueous gelatin solution having 4-10 mass% concentration and keeping the resulting solution at 35-45°C.
