Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a meandering suppression and control method capable of further suppressing steel sheet meandering.SOLUTION: A meandering suppression and control method for suppressing meandering of a traveling steel sheet 2 by driving a first steering device 10 includes a meandering detection process, a meandering state determination process and a gain change-over process. In the meandering detection process, a meandering sensor 11 detects the meandering amount and meandering speed of the steel sheet 2 passing through the first steering device 10. In the meandering state determination process, a meandering state determination part 12c determines whether or not the steel sheet 2 is in an abnormal meandering state on the basis of the meandering amount and meandering speed detected by the meandering sensor 11. In the gain change-over process, when it is determined by the above determination part 12c that the steel sheet is in the abnormal meandering state, a gain setting part 12a changes a driving gain when a drive control part 12e controls the drive of the steering device 10 in response to the meandering state of the steel sheet 2 passing through the steering device 10.
