Title:
MEANS AND METHOD FOR ANALYZING INCLUSION IN MOLTEN METAL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH0436426
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To easily quantitatively analyze the number and sizes of the inclusions in a molten metal by forcibly passing the molten metal, by suction force through a wire net made of a stainless steel to filter the inclusions in the molten metal and to stick the inclusions to the surface of the wire net made of the stainless steel, and measuring the number and sizes thereof.

CONSTITUTION: The analyzing means 1 is immersed into the molten metal M in a molten metal holding tank in such a manner that a molten metal suction port 2 is completely submerged in the molten metal M. A cap 7 is then removed and the molten metal suction port 2 is opened to execute evacuation from a suction force port 3 via a tubular body 12. Only the molten metal M is sucked through the mesh opening of the wire net 5 made of the stainless steel from the suction port 2 and the inclusions are filtered by the wire net 5. The analyzing means 1 is pulled out of the molten metal M after the prescribed amt. of the molten metal enters a metal storage tank. The wire net 5 is removed from the analyzing means body 4 and the number and sizes of the inclusions filtered and stuck to the wire net 5 are measured.
