Abstract:
PURPOSE: To simply and rapidly measure the activity of cells with platinum electrodes.
CONSTITUTION: A method for measuring the activity of cells comprises treating a solution containing alive cells with an oxidized type quinone such as 2- methyl-1,4-naphthoquinone (menadione) and subsequently detecting and determining the reduced type quinone such as menadiol produced or hydrogen peroxide with platinum electrodes.
