PURPOSE: To improve safety, by pushing a display mode changing switch continuously for a specified time period or more, thereby automatically switching the kinds of measured and computed results to be displayed in the specified sequence.
CONSTITUTION: A microcomputer 5 displays, e.g., running time at the initial state. At every time a display mode changing switch SW5 is pushed, the kinds of the measured and computed results to be displayed by a liquid crystal type display device 3 are switched in the sequence of running distance, average vehicle speed, fuel consumption, the amount of remaining fuel and the distance that can be covered by the remaining fuel. When the pushed time continues for the period exceeding a specified time, the kinds of the measured and computed results to be displayed are continuously switched in a specified sequence at a specified interval during the time the switch is pushed. In this way, there is no danger even though the switching operation is performed during the high speed running.
