Abstract:

PURPOSE: To eliminate a turbulance of soil and an effect of compression and to measure the strength and deformation characteristics of soil accurately by a method wherein a rotary bit with muddy-water injecting holes is built in at the inside of a measuring pipe, and the measuring pipes are statically pressed into soil, excavating soil in the measuring pipe.

CONSTITUTION: Measuring pipes 17,18,19,20 are statically pressed into soil, excavating and removing soil in the measuring pipe 17 by building in a rotary bit 27 with injecting holes for muddy water at the inside of the measuring pipe 17. A rod 11 or a shaft 2 connected to a boring rod 1 is inscribed with the measuring pipe 17 through a bearing mechanism 5 to transmit the turning force of a boring machine on the ground. With a shoe 21, the outside has a clearance in size such as the 0.5% of a diameter of the measuring pipe, an angle of its edge is about 10°, and it has saw- toothed notches. A piezometer 24 is built in the shoe 21, and water pressure among the voids of soil particles formed by pressing-in can be measured.
