PURPOSE: To measure empirically the temp., humidity, heat flow rate, etc. in the system of environment-clothing-human body by connecting a pair of temp. and humidity control chambers which are independent of each other thereby simulating the climate in the clothing when worn.
CONSTITUTION: A temp. and humidity control chamber 1 including a humidifier 5, a refrigerator 6, a heater 7, a fan 8, a dry bulb temp. setter 9, a wet bulb temp. setter 10 and temp. sensors 10, 11 presumes external environment and is capable of reproducing an atmosphere of -20W40°C temp. and 0W100% RH humidity. A similar temp. and humidity control chamber 2 presumes skin respiration and perspiration and is capable of reproducing an atmosphere of 30W40°C temp. and 0W100% RH humidity. A fabric for garment is fixed to 14 and a fabric for underwear is fixed to 14' and a temp. sensor, humidity sensor and heat flow rate sensor 15 are fixed thereto in the case of measuring and evaluating, for example, a clothing material for a winter (cold) season. The temp. and humidity in the chambers 1, 2 in this state are set at respective set values and when the stationary state is attained, the change in the temp., humidity, heat flow rate, etc. is read with the sensors 15.
