PURPOSE: To provide a measuring device on which the principle, the construction, the operation state, the information of handling instruction associated with the measuring device are displayed.

CONSTITUTION: A measuring device is provided with a measuring mechanism HF testing or analyzing material, a processor 3 receiving the output from the measuring mechanism HF and processing so as to output the measured value of the test or the analysis of the material, and a display mechanism 2 displaying the measured value by the processing. The processor 3 contains the principle, the construction, the operation state, the information of handling instruction, and the like of the measuring device, or is separately provided with a storage medium containing the same, and is equipped with a mechanism which displays the stored information on a display 2 directly or via a retrieval operation. A measuring principle diagram, a function diagram, an operation state diagram, or the handling instruction information is displayed on the display 2 by selecting or by immediately retrieving required information on retrieval.
