Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an instrument device which can be easily viewed by a driver, while reducing constraints on design.SOLUTION: An instrument device provided in an instrument panel of a vehicle includes a light-emitting body and a housing fixed to the instrument panel. The housing includes a meter board having a surface where an index is indicated, and an inclined plane which is widened toward a height direction and reflects light from the light-emitting body. When the light-emitting body is located below the inclined plane in the height direction, an inclination angle θ of the inclined plane satisfies the following expression (1) represented by a driver's viewing angle α with respect to the inclined plane, a relative height H of the inclined plane and the light-emitting body, and a width L which is a relative distance in a width direction between the inclined plane and the light-emitting body, and when the light-emitting body is located above the inclined plane in the height direction, the inclination angle θ of the inclined plane satisfies the following expression (2) represented by the viewing angle α, the relative height H and the width L: (1) θ<{α+arctan(H/L)} 1/2, and (2) θ<{α-arctan(H/L)} 1/2.
