To provide a measuring instrument for vehicles which does not give a feeling of complicatedness to a driver, and performs indication by two or more units by only one measuring instrument for vehicles.
A speedometer 1 has kilo indication surfaces 11a-11c for indicating a vehicle speed value by km/h, and mile indication surfaces 12a-12c for indicating the vehicle speed by MPH respectively, and is provided with three dial plates 10a-10c on which the individual indication surfaces 11a-11c, 12a-12c are formed eccentrically, a pointer 20 for pointing to a letter and graduation of each indication surface 11a-11c, 12a-12c, a movement 30 for rotating the pointer 20 above a specified flat surface, a rotating shaft 16a-16c which supports each dial plate 10a-10c, and a dial plate driving motor 17a-17c for rotating each dial plate 10a-10c through the medium of each rotating shaft 16a-16c, so as to oppose either one indication surface 11a-11c, 12a-12c which each dial plate 10a-10c has, to the specified flat surface above which the pointer 20 rotates.
