To provide a new diagnosing means which utilizes immunity marker molecules to improve the accuracy of diagnosis of insulin-dependent diabetes in the initial stage or the developing stage of a crisis.
The concentration of soluble HLA class-I molecules is measured by utilizing anti-HLA class-I antibodies which specifically react to heavy chain αchains constituting soluble HLA class-I molecule heterodimers and anti-β2 microglobulin antibodies which specifically react to β2 microglobulins. The concentration of soluble HLA class-I molecules contained in the blood collected from an examinee is measured and if the measured value of the concentration in the blood of the soluble HLA class-I molecules is under 80% of the standard value of the concentration in the blood of the soluble HLA class-I molecules contained in the blood collected from a sound person and the blood shows anti-islet cell antibody (ICA) positive as well, the examinee will be judged to have insulin-dependent diabetes.
