Abstract:
PURPOSE:To facilitate measuring operation required to decide whether or not a size is proper by forming the selection of a main rod body elliptically, and setting the minor axis of the ellipse as a go side and the major as a stop side. CONSTITUTION:A go-stopping gauge 1 consists of a rod type main body 12. A peripheral groove 122 is formed close to one lengthwise end of the rod type main body 12. Further, the sectional shape of a gauge part 126 is elliptic. The minor axis (a) of the elliptic shape is set as the go side for the size between cam end surfaces which are measured places. The diameter (b) which crosses the minor axis (a) of the elliptic shape by 90 deg. is set as the stop side for the size between the cam end surfaces. Then it is decided whether or not the size is proper by only one-time measuring operation where in the go-stopping gauge 1 is inserted into the measured place and then turned.
