Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the method for simplifying a health check of a network management system.
SOLUTION: A network management center 1 polls a monitored device end NE 4 that is the most remote to check 54 its health. In the case that the result of the health check indicates OK, the center 1 omits the health check relating to a monitored device gateway NE 2 and intermediate NEs 31, 32 on a same communication line up to the end NE 4. In the case that the result of the health check indicates a failure, the center 1 polls sequentially a monitored device intermediate NE 32 that is closer to the end NE 4. When the center 1 obtains a normal health check result from the polling, the center 1 omits the health check for the monitored device intermediate NE 31 and the gateway NE 2 that are closer to the center 1 than the intermediate NE 32.
