Abstract:

To provide a mechanical element which can stably be operated for a long time and has one or more sliding surfaces comprising various materials except steel.

This mechanical elements comprising at least two surfaces moved at mutually different circumferential speeds and a lubricant composition disposed between the two surfaces and receiving shears is characterized in that at least a portion of at least one of the two surfaces comprises one of various metals except steel or an inorganic or organic material except the metals, and the lubricant composition contains at least one of organic compounds each having a mesogenic structure in the molecule and a viscosity pressure coefficient of ≤20 GPa-1 at 40°C, and expressing the minimum friction coefficient value with the increase of pressure under a pressure of ≥10 MPa.
