Abstract:

PURPOSE: To prevent occurrence of two laminar flows of sodium and argon gas, by curving a pipe, connected to an overflow nozzle, upward and providing a communication pipe, that connects the topmost part of a curved part to the upper part of a pump sodium liquid level.

CONSTITUTION: Sosium, from an overflow nozzle 5 to the curved part of an overflow pipe 12, flows perfectly in an internal solid state, not to cause temperature difference circumferentially of the pump overflow nozzle, and bending stress is not generated. Further pressure of argon gas in a pump is equalized to pressure of argon gas, in the downstream side from the curved part of the overflow pipe 12, by a communication pipe 13, then a liquid level of sodium in the pump at discharge of the sodium is higher than the topmost part of an opening of the overflow nozzle 5, in this way, the discharge sodium involves a slightly less amount of argon gas from a free liquid level of the pump.
