The mechanical type parking device 10 includes a plurality of parking areas 3a to 3d having the mutually different maximum sizes of cars for being parked. The mechanical type parking device 10 includes a storage device 17 storing registered data mutually relating the discriminating informations for registered cars at each registered car 1 and the parking areas. The parking device further includes a conveyor 19 conveying the registered cars among each parking area and prescribed entering/forwarding places and a controller 21 controlling the conveyor 19. In the parking device 10, the discriminating informations for the registered cars are input to the controller 21 in case of the entering/forwarding of each registered car, and the controller 21 conducts a control conveying the registered cars among the parking areas related to the discriminating informations and the entering/forwarding places to the conveyor 19.
