PURPOSE: To provide a heald control mechanism equipped with at least one heald rod which can be moved between a first limit and a second limit of a reciprocating movement.
CONSTITUTION: A heald rod-driving means is continuously reciprocated along a course parallel to the longitudinal axis of a heald rod. The heald rod is usually placed on the side of the first limit of the reciprocating movement. The heald rod and the driving means are equipped with cooperation latch means which are automatically engaged with the driving means, when the driving means is moved with respect to the heald rod along the course directed to the second limit of the reciprocating movement. A heald rod selection control means is operated so that the cooperation latch means is selectively separated, when the heald rod is placed at the first limit of the reciprocating movement. The heald rod is moved using a driving means toward the second limit of the reciprocating movement at a state for driving the cooperation latch means in an action state.
