Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a control mechanism for controlling tape running position improving accuracy of the track position on the tape at the time of recording/ reproducing operation in a helical scan system recording/reproducing device.

CONSTITUTION: To pinch-rollers 127, 128 located at the tape entrance/exit side of a rotary cylinder a control function of tape running position, is added then the peripheral surface of the lower part of the pinch-roller 127 is made to the state having the large coefficient of friction, and the peripheral surface of the upper part of the pinch-roller 128 is made to the state having the large coefficient of friction. At the time when the tape runs in the forward direction, the tape is energized downward by an operation of the pinch-roller 127 and made to abut on the tape guide surface which is made to be the reference surface for the lower side. When the tape runs in the reverse direction, the tape is energized upward by an operation of the pinch-roller 128 and made to abut on the tape guide surface of the upper side, thereby the accuracy of the relative running position between the head running position and the tape is secured.
