Abstract:

PURPOSE: To permit an easy adaptation of a reciprocation rod spacing to a desired board length without increasing vibrations accompanied by the operation of the mechanism for operating the needle board in the needling machine.

CONSTITUTION: In this mechanism for operating a needle board in the needling machine, two bearing housings 3 for integrally bearing rod guide devices 8 for guiding the vertical movements of eccentric drives 4 and rods 5 are arranged on both the lateral sides, and the rods 5 on both the lateral sides are engaged and fixed to a needle beam 9 which holds needle plates 1. The two eccentric shafts 12 of the eccentric drives 4 in both the bearing housing 3 are connected to each other through a joint 13. A spacer 2 whose length can be adjusted by increasing or decreasing a plurality of pieces is placed between both the bearing housing 3, and both the bearing housings 3 are fixed to each other by the use of bolts 11, thereby forming a flexural stiff structure.
