Abstract:

PURPOSE: To prevent surely a carbon ribbon from relaxing by rotating the carbon ribbon in the reverse direction to its feeding direction in unwinding operation of a medium to be printed with rotating in the counter-feeding direction in an ordinary printing operation.
CONSTITUTION: A carbon ribbon winding shaft 15 is rotated in the counterclockwise direction by means of a timing belt 46 based on rotation of a platen 8 to deliver a carbon ribbon and an intermediate shaft 41 is rotated by the first and the second winding side gears 37 and 38, an intermediate gear and an intermediate one way clutch and the first feeding side pulley 33 is rotated by an intermediate pulley 43 and a belt 47 and a carbon ribbon feeding shaft 14 is rotated in the reverse direction to the feeding direction by the first feeding side one way clutch. Then, the carbon ribbon is delivered by a slip mechanism. The first winding side gear 37 of the carbon ribbon winding shaft 15 is rotated in the clockwise direction by reverse rotation of the platen 8 and the second feeding side pulley 34 is rotated by a winding side pulley 39 and a belt 48 and the carbon ribbon feeding shaft 15 is rotated in the reverse direction to the feeding direction by the second feeding side one way clutch.
