To provide a relay function which ensures continuous network connection in an interrupted wireless communication network.
A wireless communication mechanism is loaded with relay support between base stations (BS), relay support between mobile stations (MS), and relay support between a mobile station and a base station, in a medium access control (MAC) layer. In the relay support between the base stations, an initial BS sends a request message to an adjacent station, determines which response to acknowledge when plural messages are received, and sends a confirmation message after the determination. Receiving the confirmation, a response BS updates a status, creates a super frame header (SFH) and an HR-MAP for the next station and transmits an HR preamble, the SFH, and the HR-MAP for the next station.
