Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that the conventionally constituted thermal storage section of a regenerative burner constituted to horizontally pass combustion air and exhaust gas through its thermal storage section filled up with a thermal storage material requires maintenance for replenishing the thermal storage material, because a gap is formed in the upper part of the thermal storage section when the volume of the thermal storage material decreases and the combustion air or exhaust gas flows into the gap, resulting in a decline in heat recovery rate of the thermal storage section.
SOLUTION: A mechanism for suppressing a decline in heat recovery rate of the thermal storage section 3 of the regenerative burner constituted to horizontally pass combustion air and exhaust air through the thermal storage section 3 filled up with the thermal storage material 6 is constituted by vertically movably providing heat-resistant ventilation obstructing means 8a and 8b in the upper part of the thermal storage section 3 so that the weights of the means 8a and 8b may be supported by the material 6.
