PURPOSE: To provide so that a conveyer on which washing water and the like is adhered does not pass through a drying apparatus and improve therewith thermal efficiency by a method wherein a transfer conveyer for transferring cans from a washing conveyer to a drying conveyer is arranged between the washing conveyer and the drying conveyer.
CONSTITUTION: Cans which are formed and on which printing or the like are provided are placed on a washing conveyer 3 in a washing apparatus 1, and are washed with washing liquid blown thereon while passing through the inside of the washing apparatus 1. After dirt is taken away, the cans are discharged from a discharge port 5 and are transferred to a rinsing conveyer 9 through a transfer conveyer 18. Residual washing liquid remaining inside and outside the cans are rinsed away by the rinse blown thereon while the cans are moved through the inside of a rinsing apparatus 7. After that the cans are transferred to a drying conveyer 13 through the transfer conveyer 18, and the cans are dried in a drying apparatus 2 equipped with a drying oven 14 and a cooler 15. After the drying, the cans are discharged from a discharge port 22. The transfer conveyer 18 is so constituted that it can transfer the cans by drawing them by suction force acting on a duct 20 communicating with a suction apparatus 21.
