Abstract:
As ever higher buildings are built, more of the work on exterior walls is performed manually by work personnel in gondolas suspended from rooftops. It has been proposed in the past that the work on exterior walls be mechanized by installing rails on the exterior walls, switching to dedicated mechanical gondolas, or the like, but implementing these proposals is not easy. According to this invention, work units are mounted on one or more platforms that actively move along rails installed on the skeleton structure of a work gondola, expanding the scope of work in the horizontal direction. A function is provided whereby the position of the center of gravity of the entire gondola is corrected within a permissible range by controlling the mutual positions of the actively moving work units, and a plurality of rails are installed so that a plurality of types of work units are operated in parallel within the same gondola. In addition, standards for mounting the work units on the moving platforms are indicated to make it easier for manufacturers of the work units to participate in the business of high-elevation work.
