Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide an actuator utilizing mechanochemical materials capable of increasing the response speed to the utmost with a relatively simple structure.
CONSTITUTION: An actuator constituted of driving members made of multiple split mechanochemical materials 26a, 26b and electrodes 28a, 28b provided on the mechanochemical materials 26a, 26b is arranged in an insertion section 2, and voltages are applied to the electrodes 28a, 28b to concurrently attain mechanochemical reaction on the mechanochemical materials 26a, 26b.
