Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a reverse running warning for a driver of a reverse running vehicle on a highway.SOLUTION: A reverse running warning device is comprised of a fixing member, a forward travelling vehicle guiding cover, a reverse running vehicle detection plate, a piezoelectric element unit, and a display means. The fixing member is fixed to the ground. The forward travelling vehicle guiding cover is rotatably attached to the fixing member by a rotating mechanism and descends when a forward travelling vehicle passes over. The reverse running vehicle detection plate is shorter than the forward travelling vehicle guiding cover and fixed on one side in a position facing the rotating mechanism. The other side contacts freely slidably with the fixing member. By impacting with a front tire of a reverse running vehicle, an impact force is generated to give a warning. The piezoelectric element unit is brought in pressure-contact with the fixing member by the impact force and generates electricity and supplies it to the display means, allowing a reverse running warning to be displayed on the display means.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
