PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide means capable of reducing the size of a stacking part for aligning sheets of paper.SOLUTION: The media stacking device includes: a stage 26 for stacking media which are discharged from roller with tongue 13; and a shutter 28 which is disposed generally vertically with relative to a horizontal plane at a position facing to the roller with tongue 13 being interposed by the stage 26 and which is pivoted in a rotatable manner to align media stacked on the stage 26 by rotational movement of the shutter 28.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
