The media processor (card reader 1) which reads or writes information to an IC card 20 has a holding member 11 which covers at least a part of an upper surface and a lower surface of the IC card 20 to hold the IC card 20 and a drive mechanism 12 which transmits drive force the holding member 11, wherein the holding member 11 moves between a holding position where the IC card 20 is held and a processing position where the information is read or written to the IC card 20 by the drive mechanism 12.
