Title:
MEDIA TRANSPORT SYSTEM WITH COORDINATED TRANSFER BETWEEN SECTIONS
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2013043781
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a media transport device for use in a printer which is constructed and can be operated so as to perform marking on a substrate medium and form an image thereon when the substrate medium is transported from a transporting mechanism of a marking zone to a downstream transporting mechanism.

The media transport device includes a first media transport section having a first drive unit constructed and operated so as to transport the substrate medium through the marking zone and print by a print head. A first motion encoder is operably connected to the first media transport section and constructed for operation so as to transmit a first signal in accordance with a move of the substrate of the first media transport section. A second media transport section includes a second drive unit and a second motion encoder and constructed for operation so as to receive the substrate medium from the first media transport section and transport the substrate medium. The second drive unit drives the move of the second media transport section at almost the same substrate speed of the first media transport section.
