Abstract:
To provide a Pt alloy wire for medical use, which has mechanical properties and biocompatibility necessary in the medical use, and also good secondary processability into a coil and the like.SOLUTION: The present invention provides a medical Pt alloy wire made of a Pt-W alloy containing 10 mass% or more and 15 mass% or less of W with the balance of Pt and inevitable impurities. The Pt alloy wire has a Vickers hardness of 400 Hv or more and 600 Hv or less with its hardness and strength surpassing those of the conventional Pt alloy wire having the same composition. The Pt alloy wire of the present invention has suitable properties as a coil applied to an embolic coil, a guide wire or the like and also has good secondary processability in producing such a medical tool.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
