To provide a medical balloon catheter capable of compatibly securing a sufficient fixing force to a lumen in the living body and a blood flow to a blood vessel positioned adjacent to an opening part of the internal lumen.
This medical balloon catheter is provided with a tubular catheter body 2 to be inserted in the internal lumen from its opening, and a balloon 3 provided at the distal end side of the catheter body, and is fixed by inflating and indwelling the balloon in the internal lumen; the balloon is inflated into such a dimension as preventing the closing of a tube branch part in the internal lumen positioned adjacent to the opening part; and the catheter body has an adsorptive member 4 whose circumferential edge part comes into close contact with the circumference of the opening part and closing the opening part, and a depression means for forming a negative pressure in a closed space formed between the adsorptive member and the inflated balloon.
